Our Sparkling Jo Launch Party

Sparkling Jo is the essence of a good party–chilled bubbly champagne, dancers in glittering costumes, and the soft clink of crystal glasses. In honor of the launch of our newest fragrance, it was only fitting to throw a fabulous soirée worthy of Josephine Baker herself.

Let's set the scene: the party was held at the Coby Club in NYC. The Coby Club is inspired by Miss Coby Yee, the most celebrated performer of 1950's San Francisco Chinatown. The moody club fit with plush velvet curtains is home to nightly impromptu burlesque performances.

The club was graced with the presence of The Maine Attraction, a world-renowned dancer/actress/singer known as the "Triple Threat of Burlesque." Often compared to Josephine Baker herself, Maine brought an enlivening and cheeky spirit to the room, a truly bubbly energy.

Champagne was inherently served at this celebration of all things sparkly, but in true Josephine Baker fashion, the iconic bubbly was elevated. The Sparkling Jo was an aptly named cocktail of Sparkling Wine, Vodka, Lemon Juice, and Rokey's Botanical. Inspired by the crisp pear note of the fragrance, the Queen of the Night was composed of London dry gin, Luxardo, Pear, Orgeat, and Lime. An ode to Sparkling Jo's ginger note, the La Baker Spritz was Passion Fruit Purée, Ginger Beer, and Lemon Juice. Light but curated bites such as Ham & Cheese Croquettes and Tuna Tartar Wontons accompanied the effervescent libations.

The guest list consisted of only the most glamorous attendees, including the likes of April King, Jordan Laurelle Timchal, Audrey Noble (Vogue.com), Karina Bik, Nadia Jagessar, Greivy, Emma Vernon, Grace Kim, Tynan Sinks, Shelby Coleman, Kelley Heyer, and the president of Vilhelm Parfumerie himself, Hassan Saad.

Artful cocktails and plates fueled equally fabulous people for a night of sparkling celebration that we imagine Josephine Baker herself would be proud of.
